'Basilio Cascella' Award, italian photographic art prize, gives the opportunity for photographers around the world to participate in its exhibition and become the first winners across the border since it was set up the art competition, 63 years ago.
The opportunity comes from the well-known photograph Photocrowd portal, based in Oxford (UK), in which the theme of the LXI edition of the Prize was proposed, 'Falsehood', to hold a new contest among those proposed by the site. Photographers from around the world can submit their shots directly to the web from Saturday 18 to Saturday, February 26, 2017. The two winners of the 'Crowd' and 'Expert' vote will be given the opportunity to exhibit their work along with the finalists of Basilio Cascella Prize 2017, and it will be included in the event catalog.

In proposing this initiative is Alessandro Passerini, contributor photographer for Art+Commerce/VOGUE and Saatchi Art, which for some time has been the artistic director of the award. The synergy created with Pasquale Grilli, Chairman's Award and a descendant of the co-founder, has allowed the event to return to being one of the most interesting Italian artistic realities. Thanks to this first event will also begin to explore the artists park across the border, providing participants with a concrete and stimulating chance to exhibit their works outside the limits of their own nation, confirming their skills.
Registration is still open also with regard to the Italian art world; photographers and painters can submit their applications by 26 March 2017. The call for participation and additional information can be downloaded and viewed on www.premiocascella.it
